고이득 증대 렌즈시스템으로, 필름, 고속비디오, 그리고 화상변환카메라 등과 함께 사용한다.
빛의 정도가 저강도를 보이는 저광량 현미경사용, 연소시험, 빠른 현상의 기계진단 그리고 기타 다른 빠른 사건과 같은 응용에 가장 적합하다.
